Daniel McPherson

Daniel McPherson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fields. Daniel most recently worked at Duet Display as a Senior Software Engineer starting in 2022. Prior to that, they spent over 18 years at Luna Innovations Incorporated, where they held various roles including Engineering Manager - Software. During their time at Luna Innovations, they led the development of software for fiber optic measurement devices and managed a team of software engineers. One notable project they led involved developing a handheld touchscreen measurement device using embedded PHYTEC Linux, Qt, QML, C++, and Python. Before Luna Innovations, they worked at VTLS Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they developed software for RFID-based library systems. Daniel also has experience at GE Intelligent Platforms as a Software Engineer, where they developed firmware for programmable logic controllers used in factory automation. Early in their career, they worked as a Software Engineering Co-op at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, where they developed tools for testing missile launch software and held a Secret security clearance.

Daniel McPherson attended Virginia Tech from 1989 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering.
