Jose Aponte

Jose Aponte has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Jose is currently working as a Lead Backend Engineer at Duke Energy Corporation. Prior to that, they were the Owner of Pragma Analytics. Jose also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at ODX and as an R/Python Software Engineer at OnDeck. Additionally, they have experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer at Narrativ and as a Software Developer at Goldman Sachs. Before transitioning into the tech industry, they worked at ARCADIS U.S. as a Task Leader, focusing on water supply tunnel monitoring reporting and R software development. Jose began their career as a Graduate Student at Cornell University, where they conducted research and also served as a Teaching Assistant for a course on Uncertainty Analysis.

Jose Aponte obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computational Mathematics from Universidad de Puerto Rico, where they attended from 1998 to 2003. Following this, they pursued their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering at Cornell University Graduate School from 2003 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Jose has also obtained certifications in Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates in June 2017, and in Computational Investing, Part I from Coursera Verified Certificates in November 2014.
