Kendrick Fentress has extensive experience in the legal and regulatory sector. Kendrick began their career as an Assistant Attorney General at the North Carolina Department of Justice in 1994. In 1999, they joined the North Carolina Utilities Commission-Public Staff as a Staff Attorney. Kendrick then transitioned to the Duke Energy Corporation in 2010, where they held various roles including Associate General Counsel and Director of Regulatory Strategy and Alignment. Their work experience showcases their expertise in legal counsel, regulatory strategy, and alignment in the energy industry.

Kendrick Fentress obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they studied from 1984 to 1988. Kendrick further pursued their education at the University of Richmond School of Law, graduating with a Doctor of Law degree (JD) in the field of Law from 1991 to 1994.
