Title: Program Management Office (PMO) Director

Overview:

As a Program Management Office (PMO) Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the efficient and effective execution of organizational projects and programs. This leadership position requires a combination of strategic thinking, project management expertise, and the ability to drive organizational change. The PMO Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining project management standards, methodologies, and processes to ensure successful delivery of projects aligned with organizational goals.  The products being developed require detailed knowledge and experience in delivering high-tech semiconductor System-on-Chip products with associated software into automotive safety, industrial and other applications. 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop, communicate and execute the strategic vision for the PMO in alignment with organizational objectives to support the requirements for automotive and other certifications for semiconductor and software products.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness while meeting required industry standards.

  • Ensure company financial objectives are met by driving on-time project execution within the product development budget.

Governance and Standards:

  • Enhance and Enforce project management methodologies, standards, and best practices to meet the rigor of Automotive safety applications within the organization.

  • Define and implement project governance and quality management structures to ensure accountability, transparency, and compliance with policies and automotive and industrial market standards.

  • Conduct regular project audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Resource Management:

  • Oversee resource allocation across projects, ensuring optimal utilization of skills and capacity.

  • Work with project managers to identify resource gaps and implement strategies to address them.

  • Collaborate with HR to develop and maintain a project management talent pool.

Risk Management:

  • Utilize industry leading risk management processes to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.

  • Provide guidance and implement improvements to risk management strategies and contingency planning.

  • Foster a risk-aware culture within the organization.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Establish and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for project success and on-time delivery.

  • Utilize and improve project tracking and reporting mechanisms to keep stakeholders informed on project status, risks, and performance against objectives.

  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the overall health of the project portfolio.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.

  • Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Act as a point of escalation for project-related issues and conflicts.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a hi-tech field such as semiconductor hardware or software product development.

  • Working knowledge and expertise in Automotive and other market specifications and standards including but not limited to ISO26262, AEC-Q100, IATF-14969, ASPICE and ISO9001.

  • Extensive experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex semiconductor based projects.

  • Strong leadership, people management and collaboration skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Critical Chain, Agile) and associated project management tools.

  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align project initiatives with organizational goals.

  • Proven experience in implementing and managing PMO processes and Quality Management System governance in high-tech companies developing products for automotive, industrial or other markets demanding high quality and standard certification.

Other Desirable Skills (Not Essential):

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certifications
