Kurt Hartfelder

Kurt Hartfelder's work experience begins in 2002, when they worked as a Seasonal Sales Associate at BikeSource. Kurt continued in this role until 2008. In 2006, Kurt also had the opportunity to play as a Starting Pitcher for the Chillicothe Paints in The Frontier League.

In 2011, Kurt joined JibJab Media, Inc. as a 2D Motion Graphics and Character Animator. During their time there, they worked on various projects including eCards, a Netflix Original TV show, short films, and interactive educational mobile apps. Kurt was responsible for character and motion graphics animation, as well as redesigning and inventing new props and poses. Kurt consistently delivered high-quality work while meeting tight technical limitations.

Starting in 2015, Kurt took on the role of JibJab Messages - Content Director, where they directed, designed, and animated JibJab's messaging app. Kurt also managed both in-house and freelance artists. Additionally, they worked as a "Starring You" eCard Animator, responsible for head asset animation and character setup for interactive videos.

In 2014, Kurt briefly worked as a Seasonal Sales Associate at Specialized Bicycle Components, before joining Duolingo in 2018. At Duolingo, they started as an Animator and later became a Senior Animator. Kurt'swork continues in their current role as a Staff Animator, with an end date yet to be specified.

Kurt Hartfelder pursued their education with a bachelor's degree in Fine and Studio Arts from Wittenberg University, which they completed between the years 2000 and 2005. Subsequently, they enrolled at Savannah College of Art and Design where they obtained a Master's Degree in Animation, which they achieved from 2009 to 2011.
