Sam Scott Phillips has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries. Sam Scott is currently the Head Natural Gas Analyst at DV Trading LLC since June 2022. Prior to this, from October 2019 to June 2022, they worked as the Director of Energy Management at Osaka Gas USA, where they led research and analytics in support of commercial activities across the organization. Before that, they were Vice President of Global Gas and Energy at Barclays Investment Bank from July 2018 to June 2019.

Sam also has experience at NRG Energy, where they served as Lead Analyst in Structuring and Fundamentals from November 2014 to February 2018. Their responsibilities included developing natural gas and oil fundamental forecasts and recommending front-office strategies. Additionally, they were responsible for corporate messaging on oil and gas market developments and driving thought leadership on navigating hydrocarbon markets.

Prior to NRG Energy, Sam worked at PIRA Energy Group as a Senior Analyst from July 2010 to October 2014. In this role, they analyzed and forecasted supply/demand balances in the North American natural gas market, with a specific focus on the Mexican and industrial markets.

Earlier in their career, Sam gained experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Ecole Centrale Paris from January 2010 to April 2010. Sam Scott also worked as a Research Assistant at the 3-D Optics Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from February 2008 to October 2008, and as a Research Assistant at the Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis from June 2008 to August 2008. Sam Scott began their career as a Product Design Intern at E.M.O. Labs from June 2007 to August 2007.

Sam Scott Phillips obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) between the years 2005 and 2009. Additionally, Sam obtained certifications in Series 63 and Series 7 from FINRA in July 2018.
