Helmut Richter has a diverse work experience in the field of EMC engineering and consumer electronics. Helmut started their career as a Technician at Heymann Radio TV Service in 1980. Later, they worked as an EMC Engineer at Sony Wega from 1990 to 2001, focusing on EMC engineering and certification for TVs. From 2001 to 2006, they served as a TV Engineer for Simulation of PWB High-Speed Design at Sony STC, specializing in PWB design and verification with simulation tools and EMC measurement. Helmut then joined Sony Deutschland GmbH in 2007 as a Senior Engineer Consumer Electronic, responsible for the introduction of digital TVs in Germany and supporting consumer electronic device engineering with field tests, software debugging, and operator/broadcaster contact. In 2013, they took on a similar role within the same company until 2015. After that, they joined Mooser EMC Technik GmbH as an EMC Engineer from 2015 to 2017. Currently, Helmut Richter works at Eberspächer Automotive Controls, where they started in 2017 and currently holds the position of Head of EMC Lab.

Helmut Richter began their education at the Werner Siemens Schule in Stuttgart from 1989 to 1990, where they obtained a state-certified engineer (staatlich geprüfte Techniker) degree in Nachrichtentechnik (telecommunications). Prior to that, from 1980 to 1984, they attended the Werner Siemens Schule and earned a degree in Radio and TV Technician.

In addition to their formal education, Richter has obtained several certifications. In December 2015, they completed the CANalyzer CANoe CAPL NWM certification program at the Vector Akademie. In December 2014, they became an ISTQB® Certified Tester at the Foundation Level through gasq. In May 2011, Richter completed the Project Management Basic certification program at the Haufe Akademie.

Helmut has also received training in various subjects. In October 2009, they completed Japanese Culture Training at Sony. In December 2007, they attended the DVB-SI Workshop at Rhode&Schwarz. In October 2004, Richter obtained a certification in Board Designer7.0 Clearance by Voltage Differences and Design ReUse from Zuken. In January 2004, they completed Flo/EMC Basic Simulation Training at Flomerics. Finally, in November 2001, Richter attended the Hot-Stage 4 Simulation Training at Zuken.
