Aravind Venkatesan

Aravind Venkatesan is a Lead Data Scientist at the European Bioinformatics Institute, with a background in Semantic Systems Biology focusing on knowledge extraction. Prior to their current role, Aravind held positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Institut de Biologie Computationnelle and as a PhD Research Fellow at NTNU. Aravind also has experience as an Intern at EMBL-EBI, where Aravind worked on automation and enrichment of biological ontologies. Additionally, Aravind has a background in research and monitoring of The Indian Flying Fox as a Research Trainee at the Zoo Outreach Organisation. Aravind has a Ph.D. in Knowledge Management and Discovery from NTNU, along with other degrees in bioinformatics, managing data in life sciences, and microbiology.
