Chang Tan has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and software engineering. Chang currently holds the role of Senior Software Engineer at a confidential company, where they focus on the protection of proprietary code and reverse engineering. Prior to this, Chang worked as an Exploit Development Instructor and Content Author for Station and EC-Council, respectively. Chang also served as an Exploit Development Instructor at Udemy, where they offered a retired legacy course on exploit development. Furthermore, Chang authored a book titled "Fundamentals of Wireless Attacks," which provides step-by-step guides for wireless hacking. Chang has also been involved in various roles at Lister Unlimited Cybersecurity Solutions, LLC, including Managing Member, and Brave Web Solutions, LLC, where they worked as a Private Contractor, performing web front-end development, cybersecurity analysis, and incident response team leadership. Additionally, Chang created and designed the Arms Commander, an open-source malware suite and penetration-testing utilities. Chang Tan obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 2021. Prior to that, Chang attended the College of Southern Nevada, the University of Nevada, Reno, and Truckee Meadows Community College, but did not earn any degrees from these institutions.

In 2018, Chang completed the Mobile Web Specialist degree program from Udacity, specializing in cybersecurity. Chang also pursued further studies in exploit development and various programming languages (C, Go, Java, NodeJS) at Udemy, starting in 2018.

In 2019, Chang enrolled at Linux Academy and earned an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification in 2020, focusing on cloud information technology.

Chang began studying at the Mossé Cyber Security Institute in 2022 and is currently pursuing a MCD - Certified Code Deobfuscation Specialist degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance.

In 2021, Chang started a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, which is still ongoing. Additionally, Chang is also studying prerequisite subjects for the Offensive Security Exploit Developer qualification at Offensive Security since 2021.

Chang is further enhancing their skills through the GIAC Security Expert Prerequisite Studies program at SANS Technology Institute, which began in 2021.

Chang has obtained several certifications, including the Online Penetration Testing Certification, MCSI Novice Code Deobfuscation Practitioner (MCD), Online Computer Security Certification, and Online Machine Learning Certification, all from the University of Arizona in 2023. Additionally, Chang obtained the (ISC)² Candidate certification in 2023.

Chang has participated in various cybersecurity competitions, such as the NCL Spring 2023 Individual Game and the NCL Spring 2023 Team Game, where they achieved notable rankings. They have also gained expertise in malware development, Windows evasion, and wireless communication through certifications from organizations like Sektor7 and Trace Labs. With their proficiency in cybersecurity, Chang has been awarded several Diamond Player titles from the National Cyber League.
