Team Overview: 

The Corporate Development team at ecoATM is at the center of corporate strategy, M&A and strategic partnerships — our mission is to make smart, strategic investments that create long-term enterprise value for our organization. The Corporate Development team manages our channel partnership relationships. 

We are explorers, entrepreneurs, deal-makers, analysts, storytellers and conductors. We partner with Product & Engineering, Sales & Marketing and G&A functions along with our private equity owners, Apollo Global Management and Anthelion Capital Holdings. 

Position Summary: 

As the Director of Business Development & Strategy, you will report to the SVP of Corporate Development and work in lock-step with functional leaders across ecoATM to build a strategic partnership roadmap, creating new opportunities and growing key  relationships. You will also be responsible for engaging and closing new strategic partners for ecoATM across multiple retail channels. 

The desired candidate will have an impressive track record of identifying, leading and closing successful technology partnerships, and have a passion for the wireless ecosystem and smartphone markets. The candidate will have deep connections within wireless, smartphone, re-commerce and retail channels. 

We are looking for a strong leader with exceptional problem solving and collaboration skills who can develop, steer, and lead complex relationships and effectively drive commercial success with our partners.  This role will be pivotal in our growth story and the desired candidate will have significant exposure to Senior Management. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish and execute a strategic partnership roadmap from the ground up. Build a playbook to identify and prioritize existing partners as well as retail, wireless, major device OEMs and other new categories. 
  • Aggressively prospect and engage with targeted prospects, serving as the first point of contact. Build a robust pipeline and develop reliable forecasting. 
  • Grow existing business initiatives by understanding key drivers, anticipating changes and operating as the product and industry expert. Conduct analyses to understand priority locations, profitability and other KPIs
  • Operate as the voice of the customer to ensure timely, relevant feedback to our organization
  • Formulate business cases to represent the commercial and strategic impact, leveraging knowledge of ecoATM along with product and competitive landscape expertise
  • Analyze industry trends and competitive landscape and keep pulse on internal operating metrics to inform strategic recommendations – tracking the state of smartphone and re-commerce sectors, global retail channels, and the global addressable market opportunity
  • Support and lead complex negotiations. Leverage deep understanding of risks, rewards, and your expert negotiation skills to manage broad engagements across all business functions and all counterparties.
  • Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with marketing, sales planning, analytics, product development, legal and finance teams to successfully achieve objectives  

Education and Experience: 

  • 7-10+ years of experience in progressive roles in Business Development, Partnerships, and Strategy 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar required; MBA preferred 
  • Deep relationships and experience developing business with the major US wireless carriers and device OEMs (particularly Apple, Google, and Samsung) and retail channels 
  • Innovation experience around the consumer and experience leading a consumer-oriented process  
  • Demonstrated experience navigating large strategic partnerships with a clear point of view on how deals can be optimally structured and managed  
  • Growth and entrepreneurial mindset with experience scaling partnerships from inception to execution in less structured environments

  • Ability to learn and understand the technical and operational aspects of the business sufficient to improve the probability of success of new business launches 
  • Strategic thinker, creative problem-solver, willing to roll up sleeves and deliver results  
  • Proven leadership, problem solving, project management skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills; can influence technical and non-technical audiences; has outstanding presentation skills; can articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences internally and externally
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management 
  • Can juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong bias for action
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and make decisions
  • Proficient with Excel, Tableau, Salesforce and other business intelligence platforms

Location:

Remote within the United States 

Base Pay Range 

$190,000 – $230,000 annually*  

 

*This position is also be eligible for a bonus and short-term and long-term incentives based on individual and company performance.
