Software Architect at ecoRobotix

Florent Defay has had a varied and extensive work experience. In 2019, they began working as a Software Engineer at ecoRobotix, where they designed and implemented an algorithm to detect and follow crop rows, proposed, designed and implemented a major module to compute nozzles activation in function of plant localization, and evaluated feasibility and designed specs of a smarter way to spray. From 2016 to 2010, they worked as a Software Design and Development at SoftAtHome, where they trained developer teams on git, prototyped and developed a video call solution integrated into the browser (WebKit) based on WebRTC, and worked on full stack solutions for digital TV running on Linux embedded. In 2015, they took time off to travel the world, visiting the USA, Canada, Thailand, New Zealand, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador, and writing a blog. From 2009 to 2007, they had internships at Thales Communications, Tiempo, and Véga Industrie, respectively. At Thales Communications, they did Software Development, at Tiempo they ported GCC on a new arch (and GDB as well) in order to be able to compile and run C code on this new arch, and at Véga Industrie they designed and developed a raw graphic application running on a dedicated device.

Florent Defay obtained a Master Degree / Ingénieur in Computer and Network Sciences from the National School of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics of Grenoble between 2006 and 2009.
