Ian Bonesteel

Pilot Operations Engineer at Ecovative Design

Ian graduated from Clarkson University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He worked in the composites industry for 5 years performing finite element analysis, designing tooling, and creating manufacturing instructions for carbon fiber, and fiberglass parts. Ian joined Ecovative in 2014 as an R&D Engineer to support lab scale development of the Mycoflex™ platform. After a 3 year hiatus to grow crystals in the semiconductor industry, he is back at Ecovative as a Pilot Plant Engineer to help with scale up efforts, by applying his 13 years of engineering experience. He is motivated to push for change of the status quo of industrial, energy, and economic systems to shape the world for his two little kids. In his free time he is an avid mountain biker.
