Blake Montieth has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Most recently, they worked at the New York City Economic Development Corporation starting in 2020. They began as a Senior Project Manager in the Neighborhood Strategies department and later transitioned to the role of Assistant Vice President for the same department in May 2022. Prior to this, Blake worked as a City Planner and Urban Designer at the NYC Department of City Planning from October 2017 to January 2020. They also gained experience as a Research Intern at MASS Design Group in 2016, where they contributed to toolkits and resources for nonprofits and funders. Earlier in their career, Blake served as a Design Intern at LS3P ASSOCIATES LTD. in 2015 and as a Communications Consultant at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from August 2014 to May 2015. In addition to these roles, Blake founded and served as the Editor of Gump Record, a student publication, from January 2013 to May 2014. They also worked as an Apple Campus Rep from January 2012 to December 2013, where they hosted workshops, delivered demos, and organized events to increase Apple's presence on campus.
Blake Montieth attended Topsail High School from 2006 to 2010. After completing high school, Blake pursued a Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 2010 to 2015. Following this, Blake furthered their education by obtaining a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning (M.C.R.P.) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which they attended from 2015 to 2017. Most recently, in the year 2023 to 2024, Blake completed a Certificate in Sustainable Finance at Columbia University.
