Jannis Pohlmann - We're Hiring

Jannis Pohlmann has extensive work experience in the software development field. Jannis is currently serving as the CTO at Edge & Node since March 2022 and also holds the role of Co-Founder and Head of Engineering since February 2021. Previously, they co-founded Graph Protocol, Inc. in 2018 and worked there as a Tech Lead until February 2021.

Before that, Jannis worked as an External Consultant at Functional Foundry in 2017, where they assisted teams in transforming concepts into polished products. Jannis has expertise in various technologies such as React, React Native, Apollo, GraphQL, TypeScript, ReasonML, ClojureScript, Node, Go, Postgres, Datomic, and Kubernetes. Jannis also played a role in driving best practices around design thinking and usability studies.

As a self-employed consultant, Jannis provided their services as a Clojure(Script) and React Consultant from February 2016 to March 2018. Jannis has a strong background in software development, architecture, and tech leadership, with over 10 years of experience in open source communities.

Jannis worked as a Software Engineering Contractor at Workflo, Inc. from March 2016 to September 2017. During their time there, they contributed to the development of Workflo, a hybrid web/desktop product for creating and maintaining React component libraries.

Furthermore, Jannis has experience as an Apprentice Carpenter at Holzwerkstatt Himmler, where they built, restored, and installed wooden furniture and stairs. Jannis also attended classes on technical drawing, furniture construction, materials, and woodworking machines.

Earlier in their career, Jannis worked at Codethink Limited as a Senior Software Developer and Architect from January 2012 to March 2014. Jannis was also a Research/Student Assistant at the Institute of Theoretical Computer Science, University of Lübeck from 2007 to July 2010.

Jannis started their professional journey as a Software Developer at coalesenses GmbH and later worked as a Software Developer at Ingenieurbüro M. Tartsch. At coalesenses GmbH, they gained experience in microcontroller platforms, custom microcontroller operating systems, sensor-based network devices, web-based build systems, network algorithms, and memory management.
