Chris Meek

Chris Meek has worked in the software engineering and IT industry since 2009. Chris began their career as a Student Technician for Alvin Independent School Dist in 2009, followed by an IT Intern position at DKI Consulting in 2011. In 2012, they worked as an IT Technician for Custom Chemical Services, where they created IT solutions and kept clients, servers, and network systems running smoothly. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as a Software Developer and IT Admin for Genesis RTS, coding for Front-end and Back-end (Java), and managing MSQL. In 2016, they began working as a Software Developer for United Airlines, where they built commercial web applications and learned about event-driven architecture. In 2020, they took on a role as a Software Engineer II at AvidXchange, Inc., where they worked on distributed systems using C# and brought modern development best practices to legacy codebases. Most recently, they began working as a Senior Software Engineer at EdgeIQ and Datto, Inc. in 2022, where they are building Kubernetes microservices and learning the art of backing up SaaS services.

Chris Meek obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Mathematics from Alvin Community College in 2013, after attending from 2009-2013. Chris then went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2016. In addition, they obtained an A+ certification from CompTIA in May 2009.
