John O'Neil

John O'Neil, CPA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. John is currently serving as the VP of Finance at eFFECTOR Therapeutics, Inc. since January 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Controller at the same company from May 2021 to January 2023.

Before joining eFFECTOR Therapeutics, Inc., John worked at van den Boom & Associates as a Director from March 2020 to May 2021. John also served as a Senior Accounting and Finance Associate at the same company from October 2013 to March 2020.

John's professional journey began at Ernst & Young where they worked as an Assurance Senior from August 2009 to September 2013.

Prior to their time at Ernst & Young, John gained foundational experience as a Tax Intern at Lauer, Georgatos & Covel from January 2008 to May 2009. Overall, John O'Neil has built a strong background in finance, accounting, and assurance through their various roles in different organizations.

John O'Neil, CPA earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of San Diego, completing their education from 2005 to 2009. Prior to attending university, they attended Saint Augustine High School from 2001 to 2005. In addition to their degree, they obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification in May 2011.
