Doireann Barry

Doireann Barry has a diverse work experience in the energy sector. Doireann began their career at ESB as an Engineer in 1999 before progressing to the role of Principal Engineer. In 2008, they joined EirGrid where they held several positions including Consultant Engineer and Non-Executive Director. From 2013 to 2017, they served as the Innovation Programme Manager at EirGrid. Doireann then transitioned to EirGrid Group, where they worked as the Head of Power System Applications from 2017 to 2020. Doireann subsequently became the Head of IT Strategy & Emerging Technology until 2022. In 2023, they took on the role of Head of Strategy & Sustainability at EirGrid Group. Doireann's expertise spans various aspects of the industry, including engineering, innovation management, and strategic planning.

Doireann Barry attended University College Cork from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Microelectronics. Doireann also holds additional certifications such as the Chartered Director from The Institute of Directors, which they obtained in July 2017. Additionally, they earned a Diploma in Company Direction from The Institute of Directors in December 2016 and a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors in July 2016.
