Orestis Trasanidis has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Orestis is currently working as an AI Lead at EIT Digital, where they coordinate and leads a team, develops AI projects, and liaises with stakeholders. Prior to this, they worked as an Innovation Analyst at EIT Digital, where they managed and coordinated innovation projects and provided analytical support. Before that, they served as an Innovation Consultant at ERTICO - ITS Europe, leading the development of intelligent decision-making frameworks. Orestis also has experience as an Innovation Manager at OK!Thess and as a Project Engineer and Procurement Engineer at Intrakat_Official. Additionally, they were a Coordinator at Ecothess, where they focused on developing social innovations for sustainability. Orestis has also held roles at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and KLEEMANN SA as a Member of the Executive Committee and Mechanical Engineering.

Orestis Trasanidis pursued a Double Master Degree in Smart Cities and Communities with a focus on Information and Communication Technologies from 2019 to 2021 through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree program. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Environmental Engineering Technology/Sustainable management/Energy, as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) between 2009 and 2015. In addition to their academic qualifications, Orestis Trasanidis holds several certifications, including "Climate Change: The Journey" from Climate-KIC and "Health and Safety" from Titan Cement Company SA. Orestis also has edX Honor Code Certificates for courses in Behavioural Economics in Action, Innovation and Commercialization, and Justice offered by various institutions such as the University of Toronto, MITx on edX, and HarvardX - An Online Learning Initiative by Harvard University through edX.
