Kathryn Cox has extensive experience in nonprofit organizations, particularly in strategic engagement and administration. Kathryn began their career in 2010 as an Administrator at YWCA Sara McKnight TLC, the largest transitional living center for people experiencing homelessness in the region. Kathryn showcased the center's success in various speaking engagements and conferences. From 2016 to 2017, they served as the YWCA Chief Empowerment Administrator, overseeing various departments and serving over 3,000 clients. In 2017, they were promoted to YWCA Director of Strategic Engagement, where they managed grant proposals, fundraising, and donor development for the YWCA El Paso del Norte Region. During their tenure, revenues from new funding sources grew substantially, fundraisers exceeded previous year funding, and the number of new donors increased. In 2019, they became the Strategic Engagement Administrator for the YWCA, responsible for strategic initiatives. Most recently, they joined El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank as the Chief Development Officer (CDO) in October 2020.

Kathryn Cox completed their Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors Studies at Oxford University in Oxford, England, through William Jewell College. Their field of study included Philosophy, Linguistics, Social Sciences, and Pre-Law. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Business Applied Anthropology at the University of North Texas, specifically the College of Public Affairs and Community Service, graduating between 2007 and 2010.
