Luca Cavanna

Luca Cavanna is a Principal Software Engineer II at Elastic, serving as the tech lead for the Elasticsearch search area team since July 2013. Luca has made significant contributions to the Elasticsearch project, including the development of security features, ingest node functionality, and leading projects such as query refactoring and cross-cluster search. In addition to current responsibilities at Elastic, Luca is an Apache Lucene committer and a member of the PMC since October 2022. Previous experience includes software development roles at Trifork, CUP 2000, BST, ESIS, GeDInfo, and Syntech, with expertise in Java and various open-source technologies. Luca holds a degree in Computer Science from Università degli Studi di Milano and a high school diploma with an informatics specialization from Istituto Statale di Istruzione Industriale G. Marconi.
