Adnan Akhtar

Adnan Akhtar, P.Eng. is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in power systems and distribution engineering, currently serving as Principal/Supervising Engineer for DER Interconnection & Distribution P&C Engineering at Hydro One since April 2008. In this role, responsibilities include DER planning, protection, automation, control engineering design, and field support. Previously, Akhtar held positions such as Senior Technical Coordinator focusing on IT solutions and cybersecurity compliance, and Senior Design Standards Engineer, specializing in transmission protection and control design standards. Additionally, Akhtar has been an advisory board member for the Electric Power Research Institute's DER Integration program since 2018. Earlier career roles include hardware design engineer at GE Power and electrical engineer at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, with a foundational role as a Sr. Data Systems Developer at Honeywell Aerospace.
