Paraic Higgins

Paraic Higgins is a seasoned professional in energy market regulation with extensive experience in the Single Electricity Market (SEM) and Integrated Single Electricity Market (I-SEM). Currently serving as the Renewables and System Services Regulation Manager at ESB since March 2018, Paraic previously held the role of Senior Regulation Analyst and worked as a Market Analyst at Tynagh Energy Limited. Paraic completed a PhD at Queen's University Belfast, focusing on wind power integration in electricity markets. Prior engineering roles include Mechanical/Project Engineer at Pure Marine Gen and Mechanical Design Engineer at Aughey Plant International. Paraic holds a master's degree in Renewable Energy Systems, a certificate in Business Studies, and a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics.
