Miranda Jen has four years of work experience. In 2019, they began working as a Research and Development Engineer at Element Science, Inc. Prior to that, they were a Controls System Engineer Intern at IPS-Integrated Project Services, LLC from 2018-2019. In 2014, they were a Summer Intern at PharmaEssentia, and in 2013 they were a Summer Intern at the Drexel Institute of Biotechnology and Virology Research. At IPS-Integrated Project Services, LLC, they planned and evaluated PLC/HMI control panel, loop, and network drawings leading to significant cost savings and provided specifications for existing systems using engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Miranda also developed a Macro using VBA to increase efficiency of providing specifications to vendors and clients. At the Drexel Institute of Biotechnology and Virology Research, they collaborated with coworkers on projects involving lab equipment such as pipettes, vortex, centrifuge, Polymerase Chain Reaction, PCR hood, thermal cycler, and gel electrophoresis. Miranda also researched methylated gene promoter regions as a biomarker for liver cancer.

Miranda Jen attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2015 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
