Ian Chipman

Ian works with the communications team to tell the world about all the fascinating things happening at Elemental Excelerator and its stable of companies.

Ian wrote about entrepreneurs, science, and public policy for publications like Stanford Business Magazine, Inc. Quartz, and Forbes. Ian also worked as content director for a digital longform journalism startup for a minute or two, and as an editor at the American Library Association for quite a bit longer. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Comparative Literature because all the engineering classes were too early in the morning. After growing up in Indiana and spending a decade in Chicago, Ian discovered sun living in California, Hawaii, and then back in California again.

Ian spends his free time exploring the beaches and ridges of Hawaii, trying to keep up with his faster-than-light daughters and a goofy puppy, and sampling the island’s best food with his wife. He figures he should also learn how to surf one of these days.
