Daniel Sand, PhD has been working in the field of data science since 2012. Daniel began their career as a Master Student at Brain Machine Interfaces Lab at Bar-Ilan University (Prof. Izhar Bar-Gad) in 2012. In 2013, they became a Researcher & Data Scientist at the Israel Ministry of Defense and Gonda Multidisciplinary Brain Research Center, where they led a classified Bio-Technology Project. This project was presented to Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, IDF Chief of Staff, Benny Gantz, and other Defense Department officials, and received the MAFAT Prize for Creative Thinking in Military R&D. In 2015, Sand joined elminda as a Deep Learning Team Leader and Researcher & Data Scientist. Most recently, in 2021, they began working at Eleos Health as a Senior Researcher & Data Scientist.
Daniel Sand earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Daniel then completed a Master of Science in Multidisciplinary Brain Research at Bar-Ilan University from 2011 to 2013, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Biology from the University of Haifa from 2007 to 2011. In 2016, they obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates.
