Days & Hours:  - Weekday afternoons 11:00am - 2:00pm
Starting at:  $15.00 per hour (Also includes some Park District Facility/Program Usage Benefits)

If you are someone who thrives off of being on stage and sharing talents, this may be the perfect position for you! Act in a skit, perform animated readings , music and dance talents are also welcomed. Professional experience not required. You will work within the team to develop content for performances. Practices / rehearsal time is paid as well.. This ia a very flexible role.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Pirate’s Cove Manager, will assume leadership duties in implementing daily stage shows and interactive activities on top of the Pirate Ship, and through out Pirates’ Cove.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform all duties as directed by Park Manager or Theme Park Coordinator.

  • Develops and implements stage shows, improv skits, games, activities and other interactive programs for young children ages one-nine.

  • Develops a written weekly activity plan and present to Park Manger for approval.

  • Oversees daily activity plans where you interact with the child at their level.

  • Prepares for activities and assist children with the activities.

  • Greet customers and encourage children to join in the fun.

  • Daily communication with supervisor.

  • Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.

  • Familiar and trained in the safe operation of any park equipment.

  • Be familiar with the safe operation and storage of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of costume room.

MINIMUM QUALIFCIATIONS

  • Able to demonstrate maturity in dealing with the general public in matters of public safety.

  • Must be able to work around the general public and the park team in a safe, professional and courteous manner.

  • Ability to be creative with limited resources/materials.

  • Congeniality, outgoing personality and desire to work with children.

  • Display professionalism when working unsupervised.

  • Display enthusiasm and a willingness to motivate children to join park activities.

  • Must be acquainted with the district’s customer service policies.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.

  • Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

  • Helpful experience includes the knowledge of a variety of games, crafts and the ability to facilitate activities.

  • Experience leading children’s activities.
