PLC Programmer /lead Instrumentation And Electrical Tech / Calibration Tech at Elkem

Kenneth Cash has diverse work experience in the field of electrical and instrumentation maintenance. Kenneth has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. From 1990 to 1992, they worked as an Electrical Testing Technician at A.C. Testing, where they traveled extensively within the U.S. to test and set up electrical switchgear and cables. From 1992 to 1995, they were an Electrician at Lance Inc, responsible for electrical repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production equipment. Kenneth also worked on power distribution system maintenance, upgrade/modification of machinery, and installation of conduit wireways.

In 1995, Kenneth joined Springs Global US, Inc. as an Electrician, where they continued their work on electrical repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various production equipment. Kenneth also maintained the power distribution system and worked on upgrading/modifying older machinery and installing new machinery. From 1999 to 2001, they served as a Lead Multicraft Shift Maintenance Tech at Owens Corning, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, preventive maintenance, and managing air compressors and hydraulic systems.

Starting in 2001, Kenneth worked at West Marine as a Lead Multicraft Maintenance Tech until 2003. From 2003 to 2010, they worked at CELGARD as an I&E Technician, responsible for plant machine maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment installation and upgrades, preventive maintenance, and calibration of plant instrumentation. From 2010 to 2017, they held the position of Process Control Technician/PLC Programmer at CELGARD, where they maintained, troubleshooted, and programmed PLC control systems for plant machinery, ovens, and converting and packaging equipment. Kenneth also managed the Wonderware Scada system and the local machine plant Ethernet network.

Finally, Kenneth Cash is currently employed at Elkem Silicones since 2017 as a PLC Programmer/Lead Instrumentation and Electrical Tech/Calibration Tech. In their current role, they lead and directs the daily operations of the Instrumentation and Electrical department, assesses jobs, assigns work orders and schedules electrical machine maintenance. Kenneth also maintains, troubleshoots, and programs PLC control systems for plant machinery.

Kenneth Cash attended Rock Hill High School from 1986 to 1989, earning a High School Diploma. Kenneth then enrolled at York Technical College from 1989 to 1991, where they pursued a degree in Industrial Maintenance and Electricity, focusing on mechanical maintenance, millwrights, and electricity. Additionally, Kenneth studied Psychology during their time at York Technical College.
