Matt Michini

Director, Robotics at Elroy Air

Matt Michini has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and autonomous systems. Matt is currently working as the Director of Robotics at Elroy Air, where they lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing the autonomous ground operation system for the company's unique cargo aircraft. Prior to this, they were the Robotics Software Lead at Elroy Air, overseeing the development of a robotics software stack for a cargo-carrying drone.

Before joining Elroy Air, Matt worked at Anki as a Robotics Software Engineer, where they developed software for Cozmo and Vector product lines, including controllers, sensors, localization/mapping, and robot behavior. Prior to Anki, Matt worked at JBT Corporation as an Autonomous Vehicle Software Engineer, where they contributed to the development of embedded software for industrial mobile robots.

Matt's earlier experiences include working as a Graduate Research Assistant at Drexel University, where they were part of the Scalable Autonomous Systems Lab, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at McGill University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they worked on various projects related to robotics and automation.

Matt Michini completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at McGill University from 2008 to 2012. Matt then proceeded to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Drexel University from 2012 to 2014.
