Laura Newton

Laura Newton is an experienced professional with a robust background in individual giving, project management, and corporate relations. Currently serving as the Individual Giving Manager at XPRIZE since April 2023, Laura also holds a dual position at Emergency-1 Response, Inc., focusing on special projects and operations management since September 2018. Previously, Laura worked at the American Cancer Society, first as a Development Manager and later as a Sr. Corporate Relations Manager from March 2020 to April 2023. From February 2011 to August 2018, Laura was Sr. Manager of Guest Experience and Social Impact at Insomniac Events, where the Ground Control initiative was launched, promoting peer-to-peer harm reduction at festivals worldwide. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in Marketing from California State University, Long Beach, a Professional Certificate in Grant Writing & Funding Research from San Diego State University, and participation in the Riordan Leadership Institute through the Southern California Leadership Network.
