SUMMARY

The Director of Business Development for our Oil and Gas Unit will serve as the primary manager for all business development responsibilities within the group. This leader will work alongside the operational Vice President, and Vice President of Business Development to achieve the overall growth objectives established for the team. They will also collaborate with operational management peers and business development subordinates to execute the business plan and achieve the overall collective growth goals established.

Beyond their leadership, the Director will also be the primary relationship owner for a prioritized and created group of client contacts with responsibility for retention and growth. Ensuring these clients derive maximum value from our services.

Excellent proposal oversight, development, presentation and teamworking skills to succeed in this role. Demonstrating expertise in gaining access and selling to the senior and/or executive level decision makers to ensure a deep enough understanding of clients’ individual experiences to head off potential issues before they become problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively collect, interpret, assign and take action on existing market intelligence and data sources

  • Create new information sources through market relationships and additional outlets

  • Proactively and efficiently direct dedicated teams, virtual teams, and operational staff around opportunities to ensure successful outcomes

  • Effectively use social media for positive company promotion and outreach

  • Maintain updated information in company CRM (Salesforce) to track client, contact and

  • Provide key information (i.e. working tactical plans, weekly summary status, future activity calendar, business plan details, etc.)

  • Drive approach strategies in collaboration with operations and management personnel through regular briefings.

  • Lead in development of annual business plan and quarterly refresh of the business plan

  • Develop, populate and assign call lists at a minimum once per quarter

  • Gather pricing intelligence and work directly with Management to develop pricing strategies.

  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations in securing customer contracts and MSA’s.

  • Increase revenue opportunities through direct sales efforts, such as calling on key clients and following up with customers

  • Establish, foster and maintain a proactive relationship with key contacts and decision makers.

  • Pursue face to face meetings, discussions and development opportunities with existing and potential customers.

  • 20-30% travel required

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

  • Operational survey experience (preferred)

  • Survey sales experience in the Oil and Gas industry (preferred)

  • Stable work history with previous employers

  • Minimum of 7 years successful experience as a leader in positive sales team performance

  • Experience in collaboratively creating and responding to $25M+ in annual proposal requests

  • Experience in independently creating & maintaining $8M+ in annual realized revenue

  • Experience with oil and gas operators, energy developers, engineers, and constructors

  • Ability and experience selling to Director and Executive levels within these organizations.

  • Experience managing and directing the entire sales cycle from beginning to close

  • Candidate will be strategic in finding new business using technical knowledge and skillset

  • Creation and execution of quarterly and annual performance plans

  • Good management presence, communication skills, and credibility

  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned annual/quarterly goals and targets

  • Attentive to forecasting and business reporting responsibilities

  • Strong, well established online media presence and following

  • At least an intermediate level in using Microsoft Office products. Especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
