Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations, the Network Administrator serves as a key member of the IT organization and plays an instrumental role in managing Endpoint Clinical’s network environment. The Network Administrator is responsible for ongoing expansion, maintenance, and support of the IT infrastructure, including networks, routers, firewalls, servers, storage, and applications. This person will drive initiatives to ensure reliability and actively contribute to the development of future-state strategies and roadmaps. This role will be required to be on-site in San Francisco.

*Please note, this role must be located in/near the San Francisco area, reporting into the office at a minimum 4 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement technologies and processes to increase reliability, simplicity, cost-effectiveness, recoverability, and overall effectiveness of the LAN and supporting systems.
  • Architect, design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available workloads spanning multiple clouds, including Azure, AWS, and on-premises infrastructures.
  • Respond to and resolve network outages and connectivity issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Network administration: configuring and managing the availability and reliability of the network; from subnets, VLANs, firewalls, routers, ACLs, SNMP, load balancers, routing tables, and network security groups.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configurations, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain network from endpoint-to-endpoint and across multiple networking appliances: Cisco IOS/ASA, LAN Catalyst/Nexus switches, and ISPs.
  • Manage multiple firewalls in multiple sites: onsite, colocation, and cloud.
  • Lead the creation of installation and operation documentation for non-technical business owners.
  • Management of SSL certificates, SSH keys, and other encryption-related tasks.
  • Adjust hardware and software to optimize network performance and functionality while administering network security to ensure compliance with information security standards and best practices.
  • Assist in the research, recommendation, and implementation of various technology platforms.
  • Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, DNS, DHCP, direct-connection, SD-WAN, and P2S connections.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Related equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Certifications, such as CCNA or CCNP, preferred

Experience:

  • 3-5 years in a Systems, Network, or Cloud Administration role in a hybrid infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Cisco network administration (ASA, site-to-site VPN, Catalyst switches).
  • Experience in Design/Architecture of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, Switching, Routing, LAN/WAN/vLAN, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems with tools such as Zabbix, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and Splunk.
  • Minimum Operating System Experience: Windows Server 2012
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment preferred.

Skills:

  • Effective oral and technical written communication skills to communicate information to others as well as to present information in front of groups.
  • Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or heavier weights with the use of proper equipment.
  • Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Bash, PERL, Batch).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
