Arash Abarghani is a Senior Research Scientist at the Energy & Environmental Research Center since June 2019, responsible for overseeing laboratory performance and leading activities related to subsurface research projects. With prior experience as a Research Scientist, Arash conducted laboratory analyses supporting unconventional oil and gas reservoir production and CO2 storage research. Arash began the career as a Research Assistant focused on the Bakken Formation and holds a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering/Geosciences from the University of North Dakota. Previous roles include Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at UND and Senior Subsurface Geologist at the Exploration Directorate of NIOC, where Arash prepared geological forecasts and conducted reservoir characterization studies. Arash also has experience as a Wellsite Geologist, contributing to both onshore and offshore geological operations.
