Pauline Rimmelé

Director, Biology at Ensoma

Pauline Rimmelé has extensive experience in the field of biology and medical research. Pauline currently holds the position of Director, Biology at Ensoma, starting in October 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Principal Scientist at Ensoma from February 2021 to September 2022. Before joining Ensoma, Pauline was a Principal Scientist at 5AM Ventures 4:59 Newco from September 2020 to February 2021.

Pauline's work experience also includes positions at Sanofi and Bioverativ, a Sanofi company. At Sanofi, they served as a Senior Scientist for Hemoglobinopathies from February 2019 to September 2020. During their time at Sanofi, Pauline led various research programs, including the development of next-generation therapies for sickle cell disease (SCD) and beta-thalassemia. Pauline also played a key role in the development of a small molecule program for the treatment of SCD.

At Bioverativ, Pauline worked as a Scientist from February 2017 to January 2019. Their responsibilities included the development of therapies for SCD and beta-thalassemia. Pauline led preclinical studies and coordinated the successful acceptance of the IND by FDA for ex vivo gene-edited cell therapy.

Prior to their industry roles, Pauline gained research experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from April 2010 to January 2015. Pauline also held the position of PhD-Postdoctoral Fellow at Institut Curie from October 2009 to March 2010 and completed their PhD at Institut Curie from September 2005 to September 2009.

Pauline Rimmelé has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Pierre and Marie Curie University, which they obtained from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed a MA.2 in Cellular Genetic and Oncogenesis from the same university from 2004 to 2005. Before that, they finished a MA-1 in Cellular Biology & Physiology from Pierre and Marie Curie University from 2003 to 2004.
