Tae Young Kim has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. In 2007, they interned as a Conference Coordinator at the Overseas Koreans Foundation, where they assisted in organizing the "Future Leaders Conference" for Korean diaspora professionals. From 2010 to 2011, Tae Young worked as a Consultant at Blackboard, fulfilling multiple roles in two implementation projects for corporate and higher education clients. In 2011, they became the Operations Manager at E3Empower, a social enterprise, where they served until 2014. In 2015, Tae Young founded their own social enterprise called E3Empower Africa, which aimed to empower Tanzanian schools through ICT learning experiences and entrepreneurship training. Tae Young led the organization as the CEO until 2017. In 2017, Tae Young worked as a Specialist Consultant at the Innovative Technology and Energy Center (iTEC). Currently, they are employed at Enuma, Inc. as a Partnership and Project Manager, working on their award-winning digital education product, Kitkit School, which was one of the co-winners of the $15M Global Learning XPRIZE funded by Elon Musk.

Tae Young Kim's education history begins with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, which was obtained from 2005 to 2010. In 2020, Tae Young attended Product School for a brief period, focusing on Product Management.

In addition to formal education, Tae Young has obtained several certifications over the years. In 2017, Tae Young became a Business Model Zen Trainer through the institution of Business Model Zen. In 2018, Tae Young completed the courses "From Ideas to Action" and "Insights for Innovation" offered by IDEO U. Furthermore, in 2020, Tae Young obtained a "Certificate of Completion - Data Science Entry Level" from DS School and an "Intro to Machine Learning" certification from Kaggle.
