Amanda French

Amanda French has extensive work experience in the environmental science field. Amanda started their career as a beach ecology intern at the Centro de Estudos do Mar in 2011. Amanda then worked as a student laboratory assistant at Butte College from 2009 to 2012 while simultaneously serving as a stable isotope ecology lab student research assistant and a student laboratory assistant at Southern Oregon University from 2012 to 2014. In 2013, Amanda worked as an NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates Wetland Ecology Intern at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Amanda also gained experience as a hydrology/silviculture technician for the US Forest Service in 2012. Amanda then worked as a junior specialist at the University of California, Davis from 2014 to 2015. Amanda continued their career as a consulting utility forester at Western Environmental Consultants, Inc from 2015 to 2016. Afterward, they served as a field biologist at Sequoia Ecological Consulting from 2016 to 2017. Amanda then transitioned into a role as a lab coordinator/research assistant at the University of Washington from 2017 to 2018. Currently, they work as a biologist at Environmental Science Associates since 2018.

Amanda French began their education by attending Butte College from 2009 to 2012, where they obtained a Transfer degree. Amanda then transferred to Southern Oregon University and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Field Biology, Ecology, and Organismal Biology. In 2017, Amanda attended the University of Washington and completed a Certificate in Wetland Science & Management in the following year. Additionally, they participated in an Education Abroad program in Ecology in Brazil at Antioch University in 2011. Amanda has also obtained several certifications, including Endangered Species Regulation and Protection from UC Davis Extension in February 2017, the Amphibians of the San Francisco Bay Area workshop from the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation and The Wildlife Project in November 2016, and Birding by Ear from the Golden Gate Audubon Society in October 2016.
