Steven Kuijpers has worked in various roles since 2008. Steven began their career as a Postbode at PostNL in 2008. In 2011, they started working as a Research Engineer at ENTER BV and a Research Scientist at Philips Research. In 2020, they began working as a Scientist at Enzyre B.V. At Philips Research, their role as a Research Scientist involved finding creative solutions for technical problems in the field of molecular diagnostics, genomics, next generation sequencing and novel technologies associated within those fields. Additionally, they were responsible for creating novel technical ideas or solutions in the field of genomics and RNA/DNA sequencing, building algorithms to handle and analyse sequence data from Next Generation Sequencing, and evaluating gene expression levels and pathway activity in relation with oncology and neurological disorders. As a Research Engineer at ENTER BV, they were responsible for the validation and verification of a new point-of-care device (final development stage). Steven also conducted fail-pass testing of fluidics in devices and cartridges, analyzing and solving found problems.

Steven Kuijpers completed their VWO at Sondervick College in 2001. Steven then went on to pursue an MSc in Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology from 2001 to 2010. During their studies, they completed an internship at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II from 2006 to 2007 and an MSc Final Project at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2010. In addition, they have obtained various certifications from Philips, the National Centre for Radiation Protection, and the Technical University of Eindhoven.
