Akiko Mumford

Akiko Mumford currently serves as Chief People Officer at Equal Experts since January 2022 and previously founded and acted as Coach and Thought Partner at Yellow Brick Road International from July 2015 to January 2022. Prior experience includes serving as SVP Global HR for EMEA at Y&R Brands from 2010 to 2015, where Akiko managed strategic people operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa following a rehire by WPP Group. Akiko also held the position of International Talent Director at Interpublic from 2003 to 2010, focusing on executive recruitment and succession planning, and served as HR Director EMEA at Wunderman from 2002 to 2003. Akiko started career roles in HR and recruitment management at WPP and Young & Rubicam, alongside experience at Gaylord Container Corporation in benefits and compensation management, and worked as a JET at the Japanese Ministry of Culture and Education from 1995 to 1998, promoting English language use in Japan.
