Asier Barrenetxea

Asier Barrenetxea has a diverse range of work experience in the software development field. Asier is currently working at Equal Experts as a Full-Stack Software Developer / Tech Lead starting in December 2020. Prior to this, they worked at ThoughtWorks as a Lead Consultant from November 2018 to December 2020.

In 2018, Asier worked at Build Circle as a Senior Software Developer / Consultant (Contractor) for a few months, where they contributed to building a mobile app in Xamarin with C# 7 for compliance software. Asier followed TDD and pair programming methodologies and had a partially remote work environment.

From 2016 to 2018, Asier was back at Equal Experts, this time as a Senior Software Developer / Consultant / Associate (Contractor). During this period, they worked on projects for G-Research and Informa, utilizing technologies such as C# and .NET Core.

In 2015, Asier was a Senior Software Engineer (Contractor) at Findmypast, a family history and online genealogy company. Asier joined the organization during its transition to XP values.

Prior to that, Asier worked as a Senior Software Developer (Contractor) at JLL in 2014, where they contributed to the development of a new version of a commercial real estate website. Asier utilized ASP.NET MVC, WebAPI, TDD, BDD, and Entity Framework.

In the same year, they also briefly worked at Chillisauce, a .NET-based e-commerce website, and at Wiggle.co.uk as a Software Developer, focusing on both front-end and back-end development of e-commerce systems.

In 2012, Asier worked as a Web Developer at Eviivo, focusing on .NET development of web-based booking and reservation systems.

Their earliest work experience in the field was at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust as a Senior Software Developer from 2011 to 2012. Asier was involved in the development of cutting-edge desktop and web applications using Agile Scrum methodologies and a Microsoft .NET C# environment.

Asier Barrenetxea completed their education at Mondragon Unibertsitatea. From 2002 to 2006, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering. Following that, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution, studying from 2006 to 2009.

In addition to their academic degrees, Asier Barrenetxea also obtained a Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) from the University of Cambridge in July 2012.
