Position Summary:

Equum Medical is seeking an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer to lead a team of on-site and virtual nurses and tele-sitters who remotely observe patients from our center in Nashville, TN. The Assistant CNO will be an integral part of the clinical leadership team and will report directly to the CNO. This position will be required to help further develop our virtual nursing department, providing thought leadership in this evolving field and then successfully implementing these roles across our client base. The primary functions of this individual focus on Nursing Leadership and Organizational Leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Nursing Leadership

  • Providing leadership to Equum’s nurses.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of Nurses, Sitters, and Telemetry, maintaining necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and quality accreditations.
  • Work to track operational metrics associated with our tele-sitter and tele-nursing and report performance (quality, patient experience, etc.)
  • Partnering with our facility leadership provide performance KPIs and developing quality improvement programs.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to ensure all colleagues role model Equum core values.
  • Participate in the field of nursing and contribute to thought leadership as a member of the Equum Medical organization through trade/event attendance, speaking, and/or publication.

Organizational Leadership

  • Assisting in planning new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue.
  • Creating an environment that will encourage recruiting and retention of clinical employees.
  • Establishing standards for nursing practices and maintaining authority, accountability, and responsibility for nursing services.
  • Developing organizational programs, policies and procedures that describe how Telenursing and Tele sitting care is assessed, delivered, and evaluated.
  • Developing and managing team/functional budget.
  • Representing the nursing services at all appropriate meetings - board, executive, client, and team.
  • Partnering with the Commercial and Growth teams to represent Equum Medical Professional Clinical Services.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to continually improve our processes, maximize our resources, and most importantly creating a team-first environment.
  • Workforce planning – review and ensure schedules and staffing meet our client commitments.
  • Participate in strategic planning and solution road-mapping.

Requirements:

  • Must be a registered nurse (RN) with a current licensure within the state.
  • Must possess detailed knowledge of hospital nursing operations and demonstrate the benefits and leadership of telehealth at their current/previous role.
  • Must have a knowledge and understanding of Nursing licensure and credentialing.
  • Must be able to travel for 40-50% (if Nashville based 15-25% travel).
  • Must be willing to work 100% onsite in office with flexibility to move to hybrid at a later time.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong strategic planning skills.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with colleagues, facility/clients, visitors, and the general public and possess an understanding of people and a sense of accountability, fairness, and consistency.
  • Established analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Established coaching skills that inspire team members, leaders and physicians to execute and comply with network strategies.
  • Must be proficient in written and verbal communication skill and interact successfully with clinicians at client and target hospitals/health systems.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • 7+ years or equivalent experience in clinical education, training and onboarding, clinical or administrative nursing work in an acute care hospital setting.
  • 5+ years of increasingly responsible experience in a management capacity.

Total compensation is based on several factors, including type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
