Nick France

Vice President, Clinical Research at ESCAPE Bio

Nick France is a Vice President at ESCAPE Bio, a position they have held since May of 2011. Prior to their current role, Nick served as the Head of Pharmacology for the New Opportunities Unit at Pfizer from December of 2008 until May of 2011. From June of 2011 until March of 2020, Nick worked as the Senior Director of Neuroscience Discovery at GSK. GlaxoSmithKline was also their employer from December of 2002 until October of 2008, during which time they served as the Manager and Disease Area Leader. Nick France began their career in 2000 as a Senior Scientist at Organon, and prior to that they worked as a Scientific Assistant at Sandoz Institute for Medical Research and as a Laboratory Technician at Wellcome Research Laboratories.

Nick France obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Physiology from Queen Mary University of London. Nick then went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology (Neuroscience) from The University of Edinburgh.

They work with Anthony M. Rimac - Chief Financial Officer, Mari Maurer - VP, Clinical Operations, and Brian Edquist - Vice President – R&D Operations. Their manager is Julie Anne Smith, President & Chief Executive Officer.
