Sotiris Varesis

Sotiris Varesis has extensive experience in financial management and reporting, currently serving as a Planning & Reporting Officer at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) since May 2018. Prior to this role, Sotiris worked at the European Commission - DG CONNECT focusing on Internal Control, Planning & Programming from May 2017 to April 2018. Experience also includes a position as a Financial & Budget Management Specialist at Fusion for Energy from November 2012 to April 2017, and as a Financial Planning Analyst at the European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC) in Stockholm between October 2010 and October 2012. Sotiris began career at MediaLab S.A. as a Financial & Budget Officer from February 1994 to May 2010, engaging in various aspects of finance and project management. Sotiris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Accounting from the American College of Thessaloniki, completed in 1993.
