Simon Harris

Site Reliability Engineer at ESO

Simon Harris has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Simon started their career in 2009 as a Deckhand on the F/V Lady Simpson, where they worked under high pressure and strict deadlines, sorting and reporting catch and resource consumption for numerous fishing vessels. In 2018, they joined NeuroSleeve ML as a Software Developer, where they developed a device to read surface myography and predict pre-trained gestures. From 2019 to the present, Simon has been working at ESO as a Site Operations Engineer and later as a Site Reliability Engineer. In these roles, they have enhanced monitoring systems, assisted development teams in improving scalability and performance of applications, and configured SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs across multiple applications. Simon's experience demonstrates their adaptability, technical skills, and ability to collaborate with various teams.

Simon Harris attended DeVry University from 2015 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems. In 2018, they furthered their education at 42 Silicon Valley, specializing in Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering.
