Ray Cruz

Ray Cruz has extensive experience in the field of security, compliance, and information technology. Ray is currently serving as the Head of Security and Compliance at Espressive. Prior to this, they worked at Datadog as the Information Security & Compliance Leader.

From 2017 to 2021, Ray held the position of Director of Security and Compliance at New Relic, Inc. During their tenure, they successfully led various compliance-based enterprise initiatives, including securing FedRAMP authorization.

Before joining New Relic, Inc., Ray worked as the Director of Security & Compliance at Accela (formerly Springbrook Software) from 2013 to 2017. Here, they established and led information security, compliance, and risk management programs and supported an aggressive M&A strategy by integrating security and compliance programs from nine distinct organizations.

Prior to Accela, Ray served as the Infrastructure and Telecommunications Manager at Salem Health in 2012 and as the Senior Manager Global Support Services at Columbia Sportswear from 2010 to 2012.

Earlier in their career, Ray held positions such as Senior Manager at Standard Insurance Company from 2006 to 2011, Director of Technical Services/Systems Administration at Michaels Stores in 2005-2006, Director of Technical Services at Hollywood Entertainment from 2002 to 2005, and Information Technical Manager at Intel from 1999 to 2002.

Throughout their career, Ray has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a successful track record in managing teams, implementing security measures, and driving compliance initiatives.

Ray Cruz obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Florida International University, where they studied from 1984 to 1987. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) from ISACA in September 2016, CISM from ISACA in July 2016, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in October 2015. Ray also holds the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) from the Cloud Security Alliance and ITIL certification from itSMF USA, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
