Neil Slater

Neil Slater has a strong background in IT and engineering with over 35 years of experience. Neil began their career in the Royal Air Force as an Engineer Officer and worked there for 15 years. Neil then moved on to NATO where they served as an IT Branch Chief and later became the IT Command & Control System Training Manager. After their time at NATO, Neil worked at Europol as a Group Leader for Network Operations & IT Service Desk Teams. Neil then joined the European Space Agency as a Corporate Engineering Project Manager and worked there for 7 years. Currently, Neil is the Head of WAN Services & Network Architecture at EUMETSAT, where they lead the delivery, development, operation, and contract management of global high-availability communication systems.

Neil Slater's education history begins in 1991 when they enrolled at Cranfield University and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Information Technology Engineering in 1994. After that, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Technology from the University of Liverpool, attending from 2003 to 2006. Neil further enhanced their qualifications by becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng) through the UK Engineering Council in July 2003. Finally, they returned to the University of Liverpool from 2010 to 2020, where they completed a Master of Research in Business Administration.
