Maria Tachataki has a diverse work experience, starting in 2003 as a Research Associate at Talentmark Search Consultants. From 2004 to 2005, they worked as a Senior Associate at Coulter Partners. In 2005, they joined Hay Group as a Consultant, and later became a Senior Consultant until 2015. During their time at Hay Group, Maria worked on projects related to building effective organizations, reward management, and leadership transformation. In 2015, they transitioned to Minerva Marine Inc. as an HR Manager, managing various areas including compensation & benefits, recruitment & organization, learning & development, and performance management. Maria also led major projects such as implementing a new Human Capital Management e-platform. Most recently, Maria joined Eurobank in 2018 as the Head of People Engagement and Internal Communications. In this role, they focused on implementing a new HRMS platform and optimizing processes and workflows centered around people engagement and digital user experience. Maria also managed the internal communications function, enhancing the bank's strategic directions and initiatives.

Maria Tachataki holds a PhD in Human Embryology from Imperial College London, which they obtained from 1999 to 2003. Maria also earned an MSc in Human Reproductive Biology from the same institution from 1998 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies, earning a BSc in Genetics from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their academic degrees, Maria has obtained several certifications, including "People Analytics: Transforming HR Strategy with Data Science" from Emeritus in 2024 and various LinkedIn certifications such as "Team Collaboration in Office 365 (Microsoft 365)" and "Cultivating a Growth Mindset" in 2022.
