Irene di Ciommo

Principal Economist at EBRD

Irene Di Ciommo is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in strategic impact management and economic analysis, currently holding the position of Principal Economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) since May 2025. Prior to this role, Irene served as Senior Policy Lead for International Climate and Blended Finance at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, where the focus was on climate finance and private sector mobilization. Irene's career at EBRD also includes positions such as Principal Evaluation Manager and roles in country strategy and results management, emphasizing project assessment in areas like gender and economic inclusion. Earlier experience includes consulting at PwC Italy and project management with INTERCO AQUITAINE, alongside work as an Economic Analyst for the European Commission. Irene holds an MSc in Economics and Social Sciences from Università Bocconi and is pursuing a Global Executive Master in Energy, Climate and Finance at the European University Institute.
