Corinne Elizabeth Skarstedt has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and sectors. Corinne Elizabeth started their career in 1989 as an Administrator at Domtar Specialty Fine Papers, where they worked for eight years. In 1998, they moved to Profac Management Group Ltd. as a Process Improvement Coordinator. After a year and a half, they joined UNEP as a Programme Associate and worked there until 2001.

Skarstedt then joined CLAIHR - Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights as Vice President, Acting Treasurer, and Board Member from 2004 to 2006. In 2007, they became a Consultant at the Joint Aviation Authorities, where they worked in the Chief Executive Secretariat until 2008.

Corinne Elizabeth'smost recent position was at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), where they served as the Head of Section for Corporate Governance since October 2008.

Corinne Elizabeth Skarstedt has a diverse education history. Corinne Elizabeth began their postgraduate studies in 2003 at Carleton University, where they pursued a Master's degree in Legal Studies, which they completed the same year. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2002, they obtained a Bachelor's degree with High Honours Standing in Law from the same university. Skarstedt's undergraduate education took place from 1986 to 1990 at Concordia University, where they earned a degree in History, specializing in European History and Ancient History. Before entering university, from 1983 to 1986, they attended CEGEP - John Abbott College, where they obtained a Diplôme d’Études Collégiales in Secrétariat du secteur techniques de l'administration.
