Christian Schneider

Christian Schneider has extensive experience in the energy exchange industry. Christian started their career at the European Energy Exchange AG in 2004 as a Project Manager. Christian then moved on to European Commodity Clearing AG in 2006, where they held the role of Head of Projects & PMO. During this time, they managed various implementation projects and built relationships with partner exchanges. In 2012, Christian returned to European Energy Exchange AG as the Head of Product Development & Projects, where they led the expansion of power and natural gas markets in Europe. Christian also oversaw the integration of Cleartrade Exchange into the company and established the Global Commodities business segment. Christian later served as the Director, Head of Business Development and the Director Group Strategy / M&A, where they were responsible for developing and executing the company's strategy and managing mergers and acquisitions. In 2019, they joined Nodal Exchange as the Managing Director, Strategy, where they aligned regional strategy with global business targets and led the combined strategy team for Nodal Exchange and EEX Group. In 2022, they became the Chief Strategy Officer at Nodal Exchange, overseeing corporate strategy and the U.S. environmental market segment. Christian is currently a Board Member at N5X, Brazil's new energy exchange, and a Member of the Board of Directors at AirCarbon Exchange (ACX). Overall, their work experience demonstrates a strong background in strategy, business development, and project management within the energy exchange industry.

Christian Schneider earned a Master's degree in Information Systems from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg between 1998 and 2004. In 2012 to 2013, they attended EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, where they obtained a qualification as a Portfolio Manager in Financial Planning and Services. In 2022, Christian Schneider pursued studies in Finance, General at the Columbia Business School. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) which was obtained from the Project Management Institute.
