European Parliament
Matthias Ecke is a Member of the European Parliament since October 2022, actively involved in the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and the Committee on Taxation (FISC), while serving as a substitute member of the Regional Affairs Committee (REGI) and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON). Additionally, Ecke is part of the Korea Delegation and is on the board of the Europe-SPD. Previous experience includes roles as Strategic Planning Officer and Deputy Head of Unit at the Sächsisches Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Verkehr from January 2018 to October 2022, as well as positions related to political planning and advisory roles within various government ministries. Education includes a Master of Public Administration from Hertie School and a Magister Artium in Political Science, Economics, and Journalism from Leipzig University, complemented by an exchange year at Charles University.
