Tanya DeBuff Wallette has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Starting in 2005, they worked as a self-employed medical transcriptionist for 16 years. In 2011, they joined Alala Mamas as a contributing writer and admin, staying with the company for almost a decade until August 2021. Tanya then worked as a legal transcriptionist at Chaplin and Associates from June 2021 to June 2023. Tanya joined Rev.com as a transcriptionist/captioner in December 2018, where they remained until June 2023. In September 2022, they joined Eventgroove as a customer support specialist. Finally, Tanya became the business owner of Montana Plants in December 2022.

Tanya DeBuff Wallette pursued higher education starting in 1993 at Montana State University-Bozeman, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature in 1998. Following this, from 2009 to 2011, they attended Eastern Washington University, obtaining a Master's degree in Creative Writing-nonfiction.
